Description
The originally very conservative brand of Triumph a sports car announced in 1952. The TR2 then went on to start a very successful era of classic roadsters. After the TR3 and TR4 came the TR5. Like the TR4 it was drawn by Italian star designer Michelotti. His task was to outdo the classic TR3 and he solved his task well. In the TR5 a six-cylinder engine pulls under the bonnet and the Lucas injection makes for a solid 150 hp. A total number of 11, 431 units of this successful classic were produced.
Our TR5 Pi Roadster has been restored from the ground up. A certificate certifies the condition to be grade 1. Everything is well done: burl wood, mohair top, spoked wheels with 74 spokes, H4 headlights, oil cooler, overdrive, power increase to 180 hp, the Lucas injection (Pi) and a chassis customized to fit the performance. Since the restoration of the classic has traveled about 20, 000 km without any problems. The Roadster – painted in valencia blue – looks gorgeous. Our TR5 is certainly an exceptional car. It is expensive, but the reconstruction of a similar vehicle would be considerably more expensive. If you truely want the best: This is it.
