DESCRIPTION:
Lauded over by the motoring press in recent years due to the 105 coupe’s resurgence as a resto-mod hero; the perfect Giugiaro design is completely timeless and lends itself perfectly to becoming the pinnacle of classic cars that are driver focussed machines and art on wheels all at once.
This particular car, being an original 1967 U. K RHD Veloce, is a serious rarity in itself, but having been lavished with a huge number of upgrades which will be listed below, not only looks the part in one of the best possible colour combinations, but sounds and drives as well as it looks too. The Alfisti among you will have noticed the sought after and expensive “flying buttress” 1750GTV seats, not only are they rare, but these are a correct RHD set, almost unobtainable!
The rebuilt 1600 Nord engine, now has a displacement of 1800cc and put out 154bhp on the rolling road punches well above its weight, with that deft throttle response unlike anything else and snorting induction sound blaring, the power is put to the ground by a rebuilt 5 speed box and an uprated limited slip differential. This is all kept in check with a Alfaholics handling kit, Alfaholics GTA wheels shod with Kuhmo Solus tyres for great all-round grip, whilst retaining the period correct look. There aren’t many cars that look, drive and sound this fantastic, whilst retaining that everyday useability.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION:
This car was originally delivered to the U. K. which as a 1600 GTV is a rare thing alone. It was then taken by its second owner to Guernsey, where it stayed until recent years, when it was repatriated by its previous owner. The car was then given a full restoration, including the body shell, which is totally rust free. The paintwork is the only thing letting the car down and could do with being refreshed. There isn’t an ounce of filler or rust on the car though, so it gives you the opportunity to drive as is, or make it better, or take it back to the original and very in vogue, grey.
The suspension has been upgraded and the car rides and handles beautifully. The brakes fully rebuilt, meaning the car stops on a sixpence. And last but not least the engine and transmission, including the rare limited slip differential have all been upgraded and rebuilt. No snags into second, like most classic Alfas. Smooth power and plenty of torque from the upgraded engine. Capped off with the gorgeous period correct wood rimmed steering wheel. Wrapped in the impossible to source RHD flying buttress seats, it is everything you could want from a classic Alfa experience.
The car will come supplied with a plethora of spares and new parts that will only assist the new owner add more value to the car, these comprise of a full set of new seat covers for the flying buttress seats and rears seats, a full set of rubber seals from Alfaholics, I have new door cards, the Alfaholics front GTA grille set, Auto delta rear wheel arch fiberglass moulds should you so desire to go for that GTA look.
With very few previous owners, a body and mechanicals as strong as an ox, rare and sought after upgrades, the original grille in place still, this is a lovely, driveable example. From experience these don’t hang about, so don’t wait to pick up the phone and chat, we welcome all offers and our friendly staff will be glad to show you the car.
