We are delighted to present for sale this 1976 Land Rover®️ Series 3, with a high specification of extras fitted.
Externally, as the photos show, this really is a very handsome truck indeed - the 750 tyres fill the arches well with matching bonnet mounted spare, recent canvas, vintage number plates, colour coded front lamp surrounds, larger defender style mirrors for improved visibility and towbar and electrics to allow towing - etc etc.
On the inside, the interior is very much a standard affair, with three recent front seats, and deluxe matting to the footwells. There are no nasty extras - which is exactly what we like to see. The rear is unfitted with the exception of a load mat to the floor area, but for £595 rear bench seats can be fitted to bring occupancy to seven people including the driver if so desired.
Out on the road is where this Series 3 really shines through though… with the petrol engine benefitting from a Weber Carburettor for increased power over standard, and free wheeling hubs to aid economy and limit axle wear. Parabolic springs have been fitted for a superior ride and coupled with the larger wheels and tyres for extended gearing, this Land Rover®️ delivers a very much enhanced period drive. It is great to note the benefit of a recently reconditioned gearbox too - so changes are as slick as possible and the box feels “tight” to use.
In summary then, if you are looking for a Series 3 which benefits from both MOT & Tax Exemption along with a raft of upgrades to improve the drive - then this could be for you. With the additional bonus of Classic Insurance, it should prove to be cost effective to own in the longer term too.
