This very well presented, excellent value Triumph TR4A equipped with overdrive, surrey top and chrome wire wheels has arrived with us from Hertfordshire in lovely condition. This 1967 TR started life in the USA and was imported into the UK in 1990, reported to be in exceptionally original condition with a superb rust free chassis and body that had never required major restoration work. On arrival in the UK the TR4A was dry sorted ahead of a program of re-commissioning work and conversion to RHD in 1992.
Invoices are on file for work carried out during the early 1990's and from MOT certificates with the car we know the TR4A has covered just 9000 miles over the past 31 years. The file with the car demonstrates regular maintenance over the last three decades but in more recent years the TR4A has been fitted with a brand new clutch and pressure plate, new clutch and brake master cylinder, new front brake discs and pads, new rear wheel cylinders and brake shoes, new front shock absorbers and rear dampers.
More recently between 2022 and 2024 further significant expenditure includes new more comfortable, upgraded seats, new ball joints and track rod ends, full stainless steel exhaust system, rebuilt brake calipers and a new set of Continental tyres. As result the TR4A has arrived with us in strong mechanical order, it drives superbly with excellent handling and road holding. The engine is super fit with excellent oil pressure, impressive performance and the four speed overdrive gearbox is lovely to use up and down the gearbox. This is an impressive car to drive, its ideal for regular use, rallies, shows and touring.
JUF 184E has a gleaming, delightful paint finish and the bodywork is lovely, straight and of a high standard. The chrome work is impressive, the Surrey top excellent and the interior is very clean and sharp. The engine bay is nicely presented, it has the appearance of a very well kept older restoration and the underside is structurally excellent and incredibly well presented with a first class chassis and lovely clean floor pans. Overall this is a very strong car, it's fabulous on the road and cosmetically of a lovely standard throughout.
