A Genuine Austin 7 Van with correct body numbers, which was supplied new to Maidstone Corporation .

Comprehensively restored between 1990 and 1996 and 2023/ 4 .

This van is now in amazing condition, and has spent the last year being comprehensively restored by a very fastidious engineer / mechanic , who insisted on everything been done absolutely correctly . He's spend hundreds of hours and a small fortune on it . The engine was completely rebuilt at a cost of over £4000 in parts , and the drive train was restored throughout. The 4 speed gearbox had been rebuilt in 2022 . The wheels were powder coated and new tyres fitted, new fuel tank , distributor, dynamo , battery, radiator etc all purchased .

Everything works perfectly.. all the gauges work, the doors all shut properly and line up. The windows wind up and down smoothly.. Every detail has been covered. Its now an absolute beauty .

Here is some history on this van .. Chassis number 200931 was manufactured in 1934 as a Seven Van with body number AVH4202 and was supplied new to Maidstone Corporation being registered by Kent Country Council on the 26th of November that year as ‘BKM 703’.

The second owners are understood to have been a plumbing firm based in Tunbridge Wells.

In 1978 it entered a small collection of Austin Sevens . A restoration began in 1990. Provided with a comprehensive restoration, the woodwork was fully renewed by the late coachbuilder John Heath , the bodywork was restored and finished in the guise of the plumbing firm, the mechanicals overhauled throughout, and the interior refreshed, with the restoration concluding in 1996.

The van suffered minor damage while on a trailer en route to an event in 1997 and was subsequently declared as a Category D insurance loss This is very common with classics with minor damage, as insurance assessors have no clue as to repair costs . The late specialist John Heath subsequentally re-restored the nsf wing damage and completed the repairs properly .

The van was used regularly , covering around 500 miles a year since the completion of the restoration, and was serviced annually.

An attendee at numerous rallies including the Austin Seven centenary in 2022 .

A charming and beautifully presented genuine 7 Van, it is offered with numerous previous MOT certificates, information from Kent County Council on its original owner and a current V5C Registration Document.

The number is transferrable .

I'm happy to arrange delivery and can take any classic vehicle in part exchange .
