Description

Splendid OM "Superba" 665 SMM (Sport Mille Miglia) with short wheelbase chassis in Sport version (wheelbase 2, 790 mm.), Mille Miglia engine and Cadogan coachwork. This car left the OM workshops in the first half of the year 1928, then sold in England, through the importer Rawlence who bought it in the state of bare chassis, as did almost all OMs destined for the Anglo-Saxon market. It was then bodied by the English specialist Cadogan and then registered for the first time in England on 26 January 1929 with the same original number plate that is still on the car today. It remained in the ownership of the first owner until 1935, when it was sold to Ireland. After several changes of ownership it was bought in 1959 by the English family of Maxwell Hill, who kept it until 1995.
From 1995 to 2000, the car changed hands a few times in Northern Ireland before arriving in Italy in 2005, when it was bought by an English enthusiast and expert in historic cars, who was commissioned to carry out a thorough search of the area in order to recover as much data as possible and then carry out a meticulous restoration that began in 2008 and was completed at the end of March 2014. At the end of the restoration, the car is registered in Italy and certified ASI Targa Oro with the highest coefficient for the quality and originality of the restoration. The car, ready for any use, has already won a number of prestigious concours d'elegance and is ready to take part in the most prestigious events for classic cars, including the 1000 Miglia. -___- Splendid OM "Superba" 665 SMM (Sport Mille Miglia) with a short-wheelbase chassis in the Sport version (wheelbase 2, 790 mm), Mille Miglia engine, and Cadogan bodywork.
