Description

1970 MGB Sebring Replica Roadster

Recent History:
Restored as a road car in the late 1990s, subsequently purchased by a well-known MGCC expert based in Kent, as a first car for his son. In the late 2000s, it underwent another restoration to its present form. Stripped down to a bare shell, it underwent necessary repairs such as cills, castle section floors, etc., before receiving a complete respray. The intention was to transform it into a fast road/ track day car, leading to significant expenditures. Comprehensive documentation, including a time-lapse video (see video section below), rebuild photos, and extensive invoices spanning several years, is available.

It was then sold during the first lockdown to raise a deposit for a house to a gent in Northern Ireland, who then kept it unused for nearly three years. Last summer, the car was purchased by the most recent owner based in Gloucestershire. It underwent recommissioning as necessary and was used for classic car events, covering over 500 trouble-free miles last year. Its condition remains excellent, with everything functioning precisely as it should. It offers a comfortable and exhilarating driving experience!

The car drives exceptionally well with a torquey engine, synchronised transmission, and overdrive functioning as they should. The Tartan red paintwork is in excellent condition, complemented by the original works Hardtop. The interior and exterior are very clean. The intention of the last owner was to participate in navigation road rallies, and it proved its reliability with a 250-mile round trip to a Classic Car event as a shakedown last Autumn, where it performed flawlessly.

All fluids changed less than 500miles ago eg: brake/ clutch fluid, antifreeze and lubricant change engine, gearbox and rear axle. Tappets checked and suspension greased as per service recommendation.
