Description
The T200 was the first Formula Ford built by Lola and proved to be very popular in period, with 64 cars being sold of which 44 went to the United States. In the UK Lolas were driven by notable future stars such as Tony Trimmer and Tom Pryce, who was awarded a brand new T200 for winning the Daily Express Crusader series. Meanwhile a car shipped to South Africa was driven by a young Jody Scheckter.
More recently the T200 has continued to be popular and competitive in historic events, winning the Historic Formula Ford Championship four times in the early 2000s (Neil Fowler) and in 2018 (Cameron Jackson).
This excellent example was driven in Historic Formula Ford by Ian Ashley before being sold to France and competing in European events. On its return to the UK the car was fully rebuilt by specialists Neil Fowler Motorsport, with the engine rebuilt by Neil Bold and the gearbox by PDS.
Lightly used since the car has been properly stored for several years and remains in very good condition. It is on the button but needs a new extinguisher and seatbelts. A potentially very competitive Formula Ford which has the added advantage of a sensibly sized cockpit.
