Based on what is arguably the best-loved BMW car shape of recent times, the iconic BMW M5 E39 is a high-performance version of the 5 Series cars built by the Motorsport Division of BMW. The BMW E39 M5 recorded a lap time of 8:20 at the Nürburgring, making it one of the very fastest saloon cars of its day.
Throughout its lifetime, the M5 continued to impress both journalists and enthusiasts, as BMW constantly tinkered with the appearance and mechanicals of their ‘super saloon’ in the pursuit of perfection. In 2000, Car and Driver magazine in the US perhaps summed up the E39 best, simply calling it “the most desirable sedan (saloon) in the world” which we’d say is high praise indeed.
In 2000, the E39 M5 received a facelift for the 2001 model year, gaining new headlights, LED tail lights and numerous interior upgrades, though mechanically this LCI model remained identical.
Our Facelift M5, is a two-owner example powered by a S62 5. 0L V8 paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The car features brushed metal interior trim, interior options include heated power seats, BMW Individual audio with 6-disc CD changer, navigation, folding rear bench with ski pass-through and factory BMW Motorola GSM phone supplied in its original box.
Lemans Blue paint is the original colour, stone chipping is visible around the nose of the car other than that the exterior is in fantastic condition, the best we have seen, a true testament to the previous owner who purchased the vehicle in 2004 and kept it parked in his dehumidified garage.
