Delivered in 1949 to the dealer Bradburn and Wedge of Wolverhampton less than 12 months after the models launch at the Earls Court Motor Show launch, this locally supplied original right hand drive car looks as good if not better than the day it was delivered, this ‘Low Light’ Tourer is in truly exceptional condition throughout.
Used as a daily driver by its first owner until the 1970s, it was stored until 2014, before undergoing a comprehensive 8-year nut and bolt restoration which was completed in 2022.
The restoration was completed regardless of cost with incredible attention to detail including hand painted stripes on the coachwork and wheel trims.
Metalwork has been completed to the highest of standards and the car was painted in its original colour of platinum grey - the same colour as the first Minor to roll off the production line.
The overall effect is stunning. The car presents in as close to perfect condition as possible. The Minor has a couple of concessions to modern day motoring - a battery cut off switch, subtly mounted flashing indicators and radial tyres.
TRE 40 comes with the original Workshop manual and Operation manual, tonneau cover for the roof, keys, Heritage certificate and a substantial file of invoices including £1, 073 for a new hood, and separate bills of £3, 056 and £2, 546 for interior parts from Newton Commercial.
