Description
The last owner of this beautiful Glacier Blue MGA bought the car - a Left Hand Drive North American Personal Export model thirty-one years ago. It was completely rebuilt in its original colour and equipment specification including wire spoked wheels and a heater. At that time it was converted to right hand drive. Until the owner’s recent passing, the MGA had been a regular attendee at shows and rallies as far away as Belgium. It was always immaculately kept and maintained and the condition of the car some thirty years and 11000 miles after the original restoration is a testament to the quality of the workmanship.
There are two large files of history with the car which includes dozens of invoices and an album of photographs documenting the body-off complete rebuild and bare-metal repaint. The stripped and rebuilt rolling chassis and restored bodyshell photos are impressive. There is a heritage certificate, original workshop manual, owner’s handbook and several MG books. The is also some spare leather used in the original trimming. It has full weather equipment including side screens and a tonneau cover. There is a tool kit, stainless steel luggage rack and a super luggage holdall designed to be mounted on the rack. Given the low mileage since rebuild, the engine is excellent, with good oil pressure and all the gearbox synchros all function perfectly. As with all our cars, it will receive a fresh service for the new owner, but has very clearly been well cared for and competently maintained over the years. This is a splendid early MGA which is sure to impress.
