Purchased on the day of release by a father and son, the car has very rarely been driven, a total of 4 times in fact; however it has been fastidiously maintained and dry stored correctly as part of a larger collection and remains in the same single ownership to this day. This car is 1 of 10 unveiled to the UK market proudly wearing its Spa-Francorchamps plaque, commemorating Juan Manuel Fangio’s victory in 1950, in his Alfa Romeo 158. Every Sauber Racing Edition bore the name of a track where a famous historical race win for Alfa-Romeo took place and no single car shares the same name.
The odometer shows a mere 312 miles from new proving the current owners incredible restraint! All Sauber special edition cars left the factory finished in Trofeo Metallic White with beautifully contrasting Competizione Red, underlined by a sleek black line to complete the livery. The specification is impressive, complete with an exposed carbon-fibre roof, rear spoiler, front splitter, side steps, canards and door mirror covers. The cabin is trimmed in black leather and Alcantara, punctuated by red contrast stitching, red seatbelts and extensive carbon-fibre inlays. It rides on a set of unmistakably Alfa designed 19-inch dark grey alloy wheels fitted with Pirelli P Zero tyres; framing red brake calipers with carbon-ceramic brakes. Factory-fitted equipment is as you would come to expect for a modern flagship model, including front and rear parking sensors with reversing camera, privacy glass, multifunction steering wheel, voice control, cruise control, dual-zone climate control, carbon-backed Sparco sports seats, Harman Kardon sound system and a central infotainment system with satellite navigation and smartphone connectivity.
First registered in June 2020, this Giulia Sauber has been kept in temperature controlled storage under a car cover it’s entire life. The car is covered by the balance of the manufacturer’s five year warranty and three year free servicing package. The most recent routine maintenance was carried out in July 2022 at 121 miles by main dealer Snows Alfa Romeo in Southampton. Prior to this, Snows Alfa Romeo carried out a service in August 2021 at 67 miles. The rear ceramic brake discs were replaced as part of a safety recall.
The white paintwork and red livery are in excellent condition, which is in line with the car’s very sparing use and low mileage. There are no reported blemishes and the front numberplate has never been fitted to avoid damaging the front bumper. Inside, the cabin is in equally impressive order, with no visible signs of wear. The original protective coverings are present from the factory, including seat and steering wheel cover; just as you would expect for a car that has never seen the rain!
