Original 'Blue Flame 150' HP engine
Recently recommissioned following 20 years of dry storage
Chassis number 'E54S00310' is notable as a particularly early Corvette, being one of only 3, 640 produced in the first full year of production (1954), and is understood to retain its original 'Blue Flame 150' HP engine. Produced at the St Louis, Missouri plant, the Corvette is finished in Polo White, one of only four exterior colours available that year, and still has the correct red interior, with a beige hood. Imported into the UK in 1989, the Corvette featured in Classic & Sports Car magazine's October 1992 edition. Subsequently the car spent some 20 years in dry storage before its recent recommissioning, and is now said to drive very well. The last custodian had owned the Corvette since 2003. The car is described by our vendor as highly original - including trim and brightwork - and is fitted with a very rare hard top, while the interior is original and the underside presents well. The accompanying history file contains a 2003 magazine article; old/ current V5/ V5C documents; a few old photographs; and numerous bills from 'Luxury and Power' through the 1990s into the early 2000s. It should be noted that at the time of cataloguing the vendor is in process of retaining the private plate and UK period registration has been applied for.
