SUMMARY
Originally supplied by Derwent, Mercedes of Leeds, this peach of a car came to me through the family of one of my long term customers and friend, who sadly passed away earlier this year. He was a lovely gentleman, and I got to know him well over the last decade, as he bought three cars from me, but always kept in regular contact. He was also a Mercedes club member and a Mercedes enthusiast to the core, and was fastidious about his vehicles. He bought this W212 E-Class back in October 2016 at 28, 881 miles from Mercedes-Benz of Wakefield in October 2016, after a very long search; petrol versions of the W212 E-Class are very rare indeed, as most were diesel models. I suppose in hindsight he had quite some foresight as these cars are now very sought after now, as they're both ULEZ and all Clean Air Zone compliant, plus road tax is fairly reasonable too.
The service history of this vehicle is simply impeccable, and really something to behold, boasting 14 services all either at main dealers or respected Mercedes Specialists. Gearbox fluid and filter has been changed three times in its 48, 000 miles, that should give you some idea of the level of maintenance this car has enjoyed!
On a personal note, I've had quite a few of these W212 E-Class, and they're a fantastic car, but with this ultra smooth Gasoline Direct Injection engine, it takes the W212's refinement to another level, it's smooth quiet and very powerful indeed; whereas the diesel versions are all "done" at 4500rpm, this V6 petrol just keeps going, and going. However this doesn't come at the expense of fuel economy, and it much more economical than you'd imagine as this is a very efficient engine.
Condition speaks for itself, it looks every bit as good in the metal, than it does in the photos; Tenorite Grey is a gorgeous colour and really does suit the car. Interior is like new, with virtually no wear at all, and the car still smells like a new Mercedes.
So, if you want one of these and appreciate quality, your choice is limited as you wont find many of these on offer. As I've eluded to these cars are very rare indeed, and I believe there's currently around three examples currently on Autotrader that have covered less than 70K miles. This is the lowest mileage example of them all, and I think its probably the best one on offer given its combination of low mileage, beautiful condition, superb specification and impeccable service history.
THE MTSV DIFFERENCE
Unlike some, I don’t just simply go out, buy any old car, give it a good clean, then advertise it for more than the purchase price, disregarding any issues the car may have in the hope the new buyer won’t notice…I just couldn’t do that.
