We are delighted to present for sale this super-high specification ex-military Land Rover® 90 Ragtop, presented in original military colour scheme, complete with new Khaki Canvas and new 750 tyres with matching bonnet mounted spare. These are becoming rare to find in this condition and this is causing an affect on residual values – as this modern truck with a five speed gearbox, TDI power, power steering and coil springs will be MOT & Tax Exempt in just three years time.
Externally, this has all the features you’d want to see on a good ex-military Land Rover® 90 – ATU boxes with whip aerials, front towing pintle, snorkel, screw lense lights, NATO hitch, new canvas and new 750 tyres with a matching bonnet mounted spare, rear bumperettes – etc etc. We really think the photos speak for themselves – in our opinion, it looks very handsome – and it is finished off with a set of rare to find pioneer tools too.
On the inside, the well sorted theme continues – a pair of high back seats which recline are fitted, with a central cubby box and cupholders – handy for the drive through – with a pair of deluxe mats to the footwells and a hard wearing rubberised tunnel kit to insulate the cabin and protect against scratches. There are some nods to the military history of this truck too – with the central light “convoy” switch which now controls the head and side lights. The rear is unfitted with the exception of a load mat, but rear seats can be fitted for £595 to bring seating to six occupants including the driver. It is also good to note the door tops are aluminium and so won’t suffer the inherent rust issues of the later Defenders.
Out on the road is where this 90 really shines though – when one considers that this Land Rover® 90 will be MOT & Tax Exempt in three years time – yet it has all the creature comforts one would want – power steering, TDI power, 5 speed gearbox and coil springs… it really promises to be potentially all things to all men. It drives as per a more modern variant but without the complicated electronics, which is the highest possible praise we can really give it.
In summary then, if you are looking for a Classic Land Rover® which gives you the enjoyment of a vintage vehicle but without the drawbacks, then this could be for you.
