This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Iconic Sale at the NEC Classic Motor Show 2024 - Motorcycles on Sunday the 10th of November, NEC, Birmingham, B40 1NT.
The Special cruiser model was introduced in 1978 with the Special II arriving in 1979/ 80
In addition to the obvious pullback bars and a teardrop tank, the Special differed from the Standard with significant changes to the rear suspension
Standards used a 2. 15/ 18" rear wheel, whereas on the Specials a wide 16" rear wheel was used and shock mounts were changed to angle the shocks further off the vertical. Both changes were made to achieve a 'cruiser' styling with the resultant changes to handling
Dating from 1980, this Special II has covered an indicated 22, 317 miles and does not appear to have been restored at any point
Fitted with a new battery and we understand is now running although will need recommissioning before road use or could form the basis of a street tracker/ café bike
Supplied with its current V5C, some service history and older MOTs
