The Ford Fiesta Supersport was developed by Ford Motor Company as a “toe in the water” exercise to test the demand for a sporty Fiesta. As they say the rest is history and the XR2 was born. Only 3, 000 Supersports were built between 1981 and 1983 and allegedly only 24 are left in the UK. The cars specification included the Kent crossflow engine running with a twin-choke Weber putting out 65 BHP. It was then topped off with black spoilers, wheel arch extensions, bold striping, 13” RS alloy wheels and the very individual interior. All of which transformed the humble Fiesta into an aggressive and very desirable looking hot hatch.
We are very pleased to offer this stunning Ford Fiesta Supersport finished in Sunburst Red which was first registered on 31/ 08/ 1981.
This Fiesta has been subject to what appears to be an almost perfect restoration, the paintwork is exceptional and it obviously benefits from an interior retrim to a very high standard.
