Description
Indian motorcycle's new flagship - the 2002 Chief - has been redesigned from the ground up with a Powerplus 100- cubic inch Indian engine V-Twin engine and an improved chassis design delivering 60 percent more rigidity for improved handling among the new features. The unmistakable Indian Chief full-body profile remains - sculpted, full-valance fenders and an all-new teardrop fuel tank are complemented by the new and dash design and large uncluttered speedometer. Joining the Chief in 2002 are the Chief Deluxe and Chief Roadmaster. Both models are based on the same platform as the Chief but offer Indian enthusiasts a wider range of styling options. The Indian Chief is a road machine in every detail, featuring an all-new chassis design and swingarm configuration delivering 60 percent more rigidity while reducing overall weight by 14 percent. This robust chassis features a reinforced, large diameter backbone and all-new KW rising rate, single-shock rear suspension with adjustable preload. Confidence inspiring handling and a full inch more rear travel combine to provide a comfortable ride in many different road conditions.
