Description

1 of 3 Race Cars built by the Famous Fox & Nicholl Race Car Company who were also responsible for the construction of the 1935 Le Mans winning Lagonda LG45R which sold for R28M at the 2014 Bonham’s Goodwood Revival Auction. The cars were chassis numbers LM 11, LM 12 & LM 13. This is LM 11.

LM11-Fox & Nicholls’s Team Car 1935/ 1936 (Autocar 23rd January 1953 (after the war), reprinted on pages 93 and 94 in the Brooklands Books-Singer Sport Cars 1933 to 1954).
The car features a rare 2L 6 cylinder engine with three side draught carburettors.

A comprehensive study on LM11’s heritage and a file including old newspaper clippings accompanies the car. It is not clear on when and to whom the car was sold to in the U. K. by Fox and Nicholl.
