Description
We have known this very well presented Rolls Royce for a number of years now. We last sold the car in early 2023 and since then the car has been professionally stored with us. Prior to this, we sold the car in 2019 and since then it has covered in the region of 1500 miles, every so often commuting between Brighton and Central London, or being enjoyed on the roads of the South Downs over a good weather weekend. The Rolls Royce was supplied new by H. A. Fox (Wadham Stringer) Ltd, London W1 on the 23rd July 1974 to a C C Miller Esq in Hartfield, Sussex finished in Scots Pine with Black leather upholstery, Green carpets and Black Everflex roof. Rolls Royce Specification sheets also confirm the car was supplied with a Red fine coach line, Grey Ambla headlining, fog lamps and plain Sundym glass. Supplied three by us, the Rolls Royce now returns having covered around 88500 miles from new in its correct, original specification.
This Corniche is a very well sorted car with good history. Various invoices for maintenance during the 1980's are from London specialists T. J Shaw, parts invoices from the early 2000's are recorded from Jack Barclay Ltd and in 2016 and 2017 Ghost Motors and Rolls Royce specialists Herne Motors in Canterbury maintained the car. This lovely honest and original example first came to us in 2018 and after around £1500 of mechanical preparation, we sold the car to a Harrogate based Barrister who has covered in the region of 2000 faultless miles in the car. The Rolls Royce had toured the East Coast, attended events to include a classic car meet up in Beamish and was thoroughly enjoyed during ownership. On return to us in 2019 we carried out a program of work for its most recent owner, spending over £4000 on a full carburettor overhaul, gearbox service, replacement viscous fan unit, full service, new drive belts and new intake pipe and exhaust front pipe and gasket.
Since being down on the South Coast the Rolls Royce has had a high level of expenditure with Rolls Royce specialists Seymour and Curd Ltd. The car has been maintained with no expense spared, and when it returned to us in 2023 we carried out some re-chroming for its recent owner and also replaced the front brake discs and pads. The Rolls Royce is again offered onto the market in excellent mechanical order having had work to include a major brake overhaul, re-conditioned power steering pump, alternator, replacement seat switches and various relays, and regular servicing in recent years. As result, the Corniche is fabulous on the road with a perfectly smooth engine and gearbox and brakes, suspension and steering all feel first class. This Pine Green example is a very impressive honest, original car and is very enjoyable to drive. The car presents very well sharp paintwork, an excellent straight body, bright chrome work and the upholstery is beautifully presented. The Black leather seats are original and particularly good, carpets, headlining and door cards are clean and the Rolls Royce has a true feel of quality throughout. A period radio with hidden Bluetooth has also been fitted with its most recent owner. This example is on the button, ready to go and is ideal as proven for long distance touring or regular use.
