Description
This superb early pull handle MGB Roadster drives as well as it looks, and has a huge file of documentation to trace its history over the last 30 years. Only offered for sale now due to the former owners age, it has had regular but limited dry summer use for the past 10 years, and has been properly stored during the winters.
It was originally restored during the 1990, s with new BL panels, but retainining the original doors which open and close as they would have done when it left Abingdon. A lot of further mechanical work was carried out in 2010 , including an engine and gearbox rebuild and a reconditioned overdrive. The engine is a slightly later 5 bearing one for improved reliability but it has the 3 -synchro gearbox with the narrow transmission tunnel. The MGB is painted in the traditional colour of Tartan Red with black leather seats piped in red , and the chrome wire wheels are spotless. It has a period correct woodrim steering wheel, and a chrome luggage rack on the bootlid. The hood is a genuine BMC packaway type which is stored with the frame in the boot, and a black vynide tonneau cover is fitted to cover the cockpit . The engine bay is as clean as a whistle with everything in its correct original colour but not over restored.
In recent years the MG has been serviced by the MG Owners Club workshop , and new front brake discs and calipers have been fitted. We have just carried out a thorough check , and a new MOT certificate has been issued , so this MGB is ready for you to enjoy the summer sunshine.
