Description
A fabulous example of our iconic Lotus Elite Type 14, Super 95 model first registered in July 1962 complete with it's original green logbook. Originally red with a silver roof, the car is presented in a beautiful deep white, maintaining a silver roof as per the Super 95 original specification.
Acquired by the current owner in the 1990's and was purchased from the then Club Elite Treasurer and had covered only 16k miles, having been stored for may years. The current mileage reading 09465 but will go up slightly as we keep her mobile.
The car has no known accident history and has no known repairs to the original GRP, but with the doors having been changed from the original epoxy to replacement polyester ones by the current owner. The original front subframe is in the car and is still in excellent condition. The panel gaps and paint are in superb condition.
The car has had the sensible upgrades of rear sealed bearing conversion along with a 5 speed gearbox, both supplied by MK14 Components along with a rebuilt differential which was done at the same time, seeing as the rear of the car was disassembled and results in a very nice, smooth drive.
Matching numbers with the original FWB block, with the engine having been upgraded to FWB specification with steel rods, crank and CP pistons and is currently on run in miles only post rebuild. The FWB, combined with the 5 speed conversion on twin SU's and a nicely rebuilt differential deliver a great car for useability in modern traffic and cruising conditions.
As can be seen in the pictures, the condition of the car is excellent, with the interior looking possibly better than new, the car having be lavished with a lot of expenditure since purchase.
We have been over the car and refreshed a few items where needed, serviced and tuned her so she is running very nicely through the rev ranges and pulls well in all gears, complimented with the 5 speed gearbox of course.
