First registered in 1963, this Volvo has had an exceptional life to date.
The history of this car and what it has accomplished over the course of its life is quite literally amazing. Multiple rallies entered around the world, and a stream of invoices that vouch for just how well used and cared for it has been.
We don’t want to what to repeat what Border Reviers put so well in there advert when they sold this car back in 2014, but it’s well worth a read through here.
The current owners acquired the car in 2019, and at this time it was present with the following specification:

The idea was for them to complete a life long dream of competing in a long distance rally, and there chosen rally was to be the Lima to Capehorn rally ran by our partners, Hero-ERA. Sadly, as all is to often in this period of time, the event was cancelled due to Covid. Never the less though, the car was taken to Riley Blue Diamond to be fully inspected ahead of the event, and the following work was carried out:
Refit Front Brake Hoses to Clear Wheels
Remount Fuel Pump on Runner
Remove Diff Pinion Flange & Fit New Seal
Oil Service & Reseal Sump
Strip Drop Arm from Steering Box, Remove & Replace Oil Seal
Remove Interior on Bulkhead for Remedial Welding
Check Brake Pipes & Tighten
Supply & Fit New Spotlights
Fit New Exhaust Mounts
Since then, the car has been sat in the current owners garage being regularly started to make sure all things are still well lubricated and operational.
As a summary, this would be an absolutely perfect solution for someone’s first time rally car. Whilst it isn’t perfect, and will require some work in the future, it provides an option to start rallying from the word go!
