Description
The Jaguar E-type was produced between 1961 and 1975 and quickly became an established icon of the motoring world thanks to its combination of strong looks, high performance and competitive pricing. It received the famous accolade of being the "most beautiful car ever made" according to none other than Enzo Ferrari!
The series 1 cars were produced between 1961 and 1968 and are by far the most valuable and desirable. The E-Types produced from 1961-1964 had 3. 8 litre straight 6 engines and partial synchromesh transmissions, whilst the later cars made between 1965-1967 had an increased capacity of 4. 2 litres as well as the addition of a fully synchronised transmission.
The car we are pleased to offer for sale is a desirable Series 1 Roadster that was delivered new in November 1965 to Jaguar Cars, New York, USA. It was imported to the United Kingdom in the 1990s and subsequently completely restored by marque specialists XK Engineering in Coventry.
After the restoration was finished, the car was supplied to a customer through Eagle in November 1999. A large selection of Eagle’s world-renowned upgrades have been fitted to the car since including both Sport and SuperSport options to brakes, suspension, cooling and electrical systems. These have not only improved the performance of the car but also increased drivability and reliability.
The car is finished in Sapphire Blue over Grey leather with a Blue canvas hood and has been very well maintained over the years with the majority of the servicing work being carried out by Eagle themselves. It upholds an extensive history file detailing various maintenance works as well as a Jaguar Heritage Certificate and a selection of photographs from the restoration.
This E-Type represents the opportunity to acquire an achingly beautiful classic that thanks to some wonderful upgrades also has the performance to rival most modern sports cars. Contact us now for more information or to arrange a viewing.
