Description
Ford Escort Mk2 1600. RHD Import from South Africa. All tax and import duty paid and NOVA declaration done. Will need UK registered but we will fill out all the paperwork for the new owner. Starts runs and drives but will need work to improve the car before being used. Good basis to make a decent car.
Body - Early Mk2 Escort shell with larger strut top holes. Good inner wings strut tops, sills, rear arches. Bit bubbling on drivers door post. Floors in the main are original but had small repairs on front floors. Will need minor repairs on one side inner sill section. Driver side tank well has been repaired previously and filled and not the best to be honest. Paintwork is ok along the sides and boot. Microblistering on bonnet and roof. Harrier Decals fitted. One of the door bottoms looks to have had a repair in the past. Good Sport bumpers with overriders, new spotlights.
Mechanics - 1600 crossflow which starts and runs no problem. 711M block. 4 speed box. Standard suspension but looks like Sport 9" rear brakes. Starts and runs. Brakes are spongy, possible leaky wheel cylinder, clutch is ok. Gearbox is ok but stick is missing the circlip that stops it going into reverse. Will need a good checkover from front to back.
Interior - Full Sport interior. Dash top had been recovered. Door cards are useable but not perfect by any means. Seats are Ok but have a couple of splits on the dark brown material parts. Headlining has been redone but not the correct material.
Wheels - Polished Rs Wheels with half decent tyres.
This needs a bit work to bring it up to scratch but you could make a decent car out of it without bursting the bank. You are welcome to come and see the car. We have a ramp so you can look underneath. Delivery can be arranged if required. Please ask for a quote
