Story
The 512 TR is the evolution of the Testarossa model. Production began in 1991.
The interior was completely redesigned to improve comfort and ergonomics, while the exterior modifications were designed to improve aerodynamics.
The 512 TR was presented as the replacement for the Testarossa and announced for the 1992 model year.
This vehicle saw the return of a model name using a combination of characters :
The number '5' referring to the cubic engine capacity in litres, the number '12' referring to the number of 12 cylinders, while 'TR' stood for Testarossa
The main external visual differences were the shape of the front and rear of the vehicle, the design of the bonnet and of the wheels.
The profile of the of the rear quarter panels was also slightly different.
These were simple and smooth, and directly up to the roof panel of the 512 TR, without the Testarossa's staggered black perforated exhaust grilles of the Testarossa.
Inside, changes were made to the seats seats, steering wheel design and trim details.
In terms of powertrain, a number of changes have been made to the engine and gearbox, boosting the vehicle's power and offering a power and offering a more satisfying and easier-to-use gearbox.
The 30 mm lower the position of the engine/ transmission assembly in the chassis, to lower the centre of gravity and this improve the vehicle's already excellent road-holding is visually unnoticeable.
