This 1988 Classic is a completely original and unmolested example of the 2 Door. Presented in clean condition with genuine patina and priced accordingly. Powered by the 2. 4 TD VM motor producing around 113bhp, mated to the LT77 five-speed manual transmission. The odometer indicates just 81, 678 kms which is not warranted. The engine and gearbox are original. The car has not been modified in any way or lifted. A tow hitch with electrics was fitted in 2007. Supplied new and registered in Malaga by the Land Rover agent in December 1988 and bears its original period “MA” licence plate, it is a factory original LHD that has lived all its life in dry and hot southern Spain.
This is a great daily driver from day one for somebody who doesn't want to spend a fortune. If you’re looking for an authentic 2 Dr Classic that you can use immediately then this would be an ideal candidate. Alternatively it represents a very solid base from which to build on for a restoration or "restomod"It always starts with the first flick and out on the road performs as it should. It rides on the 16-inch steel factory Rostyle wheels with BF Goodrich R16 / 80 104 T tyres. The last keeper had it for the past 18 years and used it exclusively for weekend hunting trips.
The Chamonix White paintwork is largely original and presents well but not perfect for its 36 years . Notably, there is a small dent in the passenger side lower panel and imperfections in the paint on the lower tailgate. The body is straight and solid. It has not been involved in any accidents. There is no visible rust or paint fade from the sun externally and all external trims and seals remain good. It is unrestored. It has a rust free chassis and bulkhead. The floor, pillars and cross members also have zero corrosion. A patch of rust in the footwell has been repaired at some point.
The interior is more than decent and complete. The seats in the stock brown cloth fabric are matching throughout and not ripped. The boot area is complete. The headlining is acceptable but you may wish to replace it. Some parts of the upper dashboard have faded from the sun
All buttons and switches work. There are no warning lights on. The speedometer stopped working some time ago so we can guarantee the odometer which reads 81, 678 kmsOtherwise this car has very few electric features with this car to go wrong, manual windows, mirrors etc
All in all this is an honest 2 door which we are selling in its current condition, just as you would want to see it!! It is unmolested and perfect for for a quick restoration or for someone who just wants to get in and go. Accompanying the car is the original owners handbook, 2 sets of keys, tools, jack and spare wheel. There is a large file of ITV inspection certificates and various receipts.
All Spanish Car documents are present and correct, ready for transfer to new keeper or export.
