With the Golf GTi debuting in 1975 at the FrankFurt Motor Show however not being unveiled until 1976 along with only 5000 examples expected to be produced the demand stripped expectation into one of the best small hot hatch's of it's day, JF Classic Cars present one of the very best survivor's on sale today
EXTERNAL
With an all steel body with 'safety cell' along with impact absorbing front and rear crumple zones safety for this hot hatch was paramount
Undisputedly an 80's hot hatch with lush Mars Red paintwork(CODE LA3A) Gleaming brightly front to rear, No paint fade it's immaculate along with precision fit Volkswagen panels. Having the original slatted full frontal face grill housing the VW emblem and namesake 'GTI' badge, The 'GTI' colour coded featured surround complements the grill ensuring it's a genuine 'GTI'
With original 'HELLA H4' headlamps chip and crack free, Front wrap around bumper housing genuine indicators sitting straight and scuff free along with the lower valance aerodynamic spoiler also being damage free,
All body panels front to rear are vibrant and glossy along with the black raised pin strip running down both flanks, Slightly flared wheel arch covers sitting tightly around each arch with no fading. Rear view manually operated door mirrors are crisp along with the key operated fuel filler cap.
All external door rubbers are genuine with no signs of wear, All external glass remains original Volkswagen stamped with factory optional extra 'Green tinted heat insulation' glass fitted all round... Wow!!
Rear bumper only to be expected due to the attention to detail this example offers sits scuff free along with factory rear lights chip and crack free, Push button boot lock operates beautifully

INTERNAL
A very typical early 80's blend of minimal and practicality, Upon opening the drivers or passenger side doors you are greeted with vibrant coloured cloth front and rear seats displaying black, orange and red pin stripes in the very best of condition, Along with body-hugging sports seats and black adjustable headrests to the front. Leather affect door cards with black stitching present beautifully with very very minimal wear not worth mentioning. Lower door pockets compliment.
Black pile carpet front and rear showing very little wear to be expected due to having over mats fitted, Black leatherette headlining sitting tight and mark free along with the factory upgrade manual wind back only sun shine roof which operates without fault. Interior light sits neatly over the passenger side door along with drivers and passengers sun visors to complement.
Original factory fit parcel shelf remains speaker free! Along with original parcel shelf side supports housing rear speakers, Original boot floor carpet and sound deadening remains along with the rear wheel arch covers and strut top caps
Black orange peel effect dash sits genuine and untouched, Top sitting glovebox sits on the passenger side with a directional heater vent tucked to the side, Stowage compartment sitting underneath
Original factory fit retro 'Blaupunkt Windsor SQR38' push button radio cassette sound system neatly tucked away also works well!
Three speed rotary heater fan switch along with directional toggle switches sit directly below along with pull out 80's style ashtray and push button style cigarette lighter both of which display no use.
Square faced dash binnacle sits directly in front of the driver housing a white needle speedometer displaying 88725 miles from new, MPG indicator sitting middle of the dash along with the cursory warning light panel, The multi function display sits to the bottom working with no faults displaying distance travelled, average mpg, average mph, journey time, oil temperature and outside temperature. To the the right the tachometer along with petrol and fuel gauges are positioned. All outer push button switches around the exterior of the binnacle perform as expected.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Fitted with the original Transverse four cylinder in line engine, 1780cc (CODE-DX) Over head cam Fuel Injection producing 112bhp mated to a 5-speed manual sports gearbox, Drive take up remains crisp along with sharp acceleration throughout all the gear range
WHEELS TYRES & BRAKES
Having the retro fitted 4-stud Silver 'Tarantula' alloys along with the black embossed 'VW' centre caps in immaculate condition shod with 175/ 70/ R13 Tyres all round displaying ample tread, Vented front calliper disc brakes to the front and drum to the rear along with diagonally divided dual-circuit large servo assisted brakes all round
HISTORY FILE
This particular example was first registered on the 29th March 1983 to a Mr Gibson of Nottingham supplied new by VW Dealership Gordon Lamb LTD. Having back at the time all factory options fitted that were available paying slightly over £7000, Mr Gibson Subsequently retained the vehicle until trading it back in to VW early 1985 when the 2nd owner took over a Mr Aspland who paid £5895 pounds for the vehicle, Mr Aspland retained the vehicle until 2004 upon giving up driving, The 3rd and final owner then took the rains(2004) a Mr S Mccintyre who remained the keeper for a further 20 years quite amazing, With having only 3 former keepers originality has preserved which can be clearly seen with the huge array of historic service documentation mainly VW along with every MOT Certificate from its very first MOT back in 1986 until 2017 where the vehicle then was cocooned away. Various original paper tax disc discs also come with the vehicle
The vehicle has undergone a full restoration and recommissioning package ensuring the next owner simply has to do nothing but get in and enjoy it.
Original blue V. A. G dealer service pack comes with the vehicle which includes owners instruction manual, service schedule book, V. A. G code of practice leaflet and V. A. G service locations booklet, Also present the original radio booklet supplied by the factory at the time of fitment
2 sets of original keys also come with the vehicle
