Description
The very first series of the iconic flagship saloon that for more than 50 years has stood out for its luxury, elegance and performance, recognisable in the European version by the presence of the front lights split on each side, a characteristic element of this series. It is offered here in a model in exceptional condition, perfectly restored in every detail after having remained in the hands of the same owner for around 30 years.
The restoration was undertaken in 2017 by Borghi Automobili, during which time the weather-damaged bodywork was sandblasted, restored and repainted in its original silver colour, the engine was completely disassembled, rectified and rebuilt in all its components (pistons, bushings, valves and their valve seats, etc., it has since covered around 19. 000 km), all disassembled mechanical components have been checked, replaced or reconditioned, the interior in black leather combined with briarwood has been perfectly restored to its original condition, the entire restoration is meticulously documented and can be viewed.
The car also boasts an illustrious history that has also been documented: the car was purchased in Rome in 1967 and then transferred to Messina in 1973, passing in 1988 into the hands of Olindo Laganà, an employee of the Ministry of Education, medal for military valour and collector of historic cars, who for years was a reference figure for the region of Calabria; in the hands of the latter it will remain until its sale in 2017 shortly before the restoration. The car can only be seen by appointment at our premises.
