Being one of the run-out 3rd generation 3 Series models, this very late example was ordered in May 1999 to a bespoke specification, and delivered in September 1999 after the E46 had technically replaced it, so it benefits from the latter innovations, such as steel-liners, whilst retaining the classic shape. Arguably prettier than the 2nd generation, with purer lines than the 4th, the cars have seen value increases but are still said to be relatively undervalued. This is one of the finest around having had one lady owner from new, from whom we purchased directly. The condition is outstanding, and there is an impressive file including the original order, correspondence and purchase receipt from BMW, service bills, original handbooks etc. A brand-new hood has recently been fitted. Finished in Steel Blue, the specification is supreme with the following options detailed on the original order from Prophets BMW in Gerrards Cross: Bi-Colour Steel Blue leather, passenger airbag, Dark Blue fully electric hood, front centre arm rest, front heated seats, park distance control and Polished Burr-Walnut.
