1991 MR2 GT T-Bar. Last owner for 29 years. Original factory paint and totally exceptional, one fastidious owner for 29 years. The very best REV1 T-Bar on sale, a must have for any serious collector.
Supplied new in March 1991 by Sandhurst Toyota in Surrey to its first owner. Ordered in Super White 11 and serviced by Sandhurst every 3, 400 miles for the four years that followed.
In 1995 the car was sold to its second and last owner by Toyota dealer Grosvenor Garage, Guildford, the mileage at this time being 30, 300miles, supported by the original sales order and invoice. The car was bought specifically for fair weather use and always safely garaged, the mileage covered in 29 years amounting to only 16, 200 dry miles. Most of this mileage was covered during the car’s first seven years of ownership.
The pre-VOSA MOT history (in the vehicle file) for this period reads as follows:

From 2003 until 2015 the car was unused but in 2015 the MR2 Owners Club requested the car attend their annual event and was subsequently MOT’d after 13 years.
The original paintwork is exceptional, being its only coat applied at the factory, the underside is in excellent shape, preserved with the application of Dinitrol clear wax over the years, very rare to find on a second generation MR2, let alone one of this vintage. It’s assuring to see a car with its original sills and underside in such great condition, testimony to how well the car has been cared for, stored, and sparingly used in dry conditions only. There are other cars advertised, many of which will have negative reference to corrosion advised on their VOSA MOT history. We will stress that this particular car is not one of those examples.
The interior is a special place, the trim and seats being in exceptional condition. The Targa Top shades are in place along with their original storage bags, all being in perfect condition. The dealer’s livery is all intact, consisting of both number plates and rear window sticker. The factory fitted Audio is still in place, along with the original electric aerial.
A comprehensive check over has been carried out along with an in-house service, including timing belt, water pump, alternator belt and rocker cover gasket. A seamless and advisory free MOT is valid until 21st August 2025.
Early examples of the first version (REV1) of the MR2 MK2 in this condition are now very hard to find and the car would sit well in the very best JDM collection.
