Description
This is one of the rare performance oriented variants of the much-loved Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider, better known as the Spider Veloce. Veloce in Italian means fast, making the Spider Veloce's purpose easy to determine. Fitted with an uprated version of the famous 1, 3 litre Alfa Romeo twin cam engine breathing through a couple of Weber 40 DCOE carbs, the Veloce produced 90 bhp. The Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce was in production until 1963 and in total only 2796 examples were made.
The car we are offering for sale was delivered new in France by 'La Regie Nationale des usines Renault', then French importer of the Alfa Romeo brand. First registered on the 18th of March 1961, the car spent most of its life in the South of France. After its complete restoration in the early 2000s, the car was used very sparingly, and only 9937 km have been driven since this restoration. This is also why the Alfa Romeo still looks fantastic, and really very nice to drive. The Giulietta still has its original Veloce engine with matching nrs, and on top of that, this car also has the original hardtop painted in the same beautiful Blu Celeste. Furthermore, there is still an original manual with it, and the 1961 French-language Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider leaflet is also in the documentation folder. The car has a Belgian registration at the moment.
This very rare Alfa Romeo is now offered for sale at an interesting price (for a real Veloce), and we have no doubt that the future owner will have a lot of fun with this great Spider.
