Description
The Reliant Scimitar GTE can be traced back to the original SE4 coupe, which sported the Ford Zephyr straight six engine back in the early sixties. The Ogle designed GTE was based on the original Ogle treatment of the SE4 for Triplex glass, which was built to demonstrate curved glass technology and shown at the 1965 London Motor Show. 1968 saw the first SE5, which formed the basis of all Scimitar GTE's over the next two decades, eventually morphing into the SE6 and SE6B. The GTC convertible didn't arrive on the scene until 1981 and just 442 were built over the next 5 years. Offered here is an example of a highly desirable manual version of the GTC, which is also equipped with the power steering option. A clean, solid and mechanically good example, which comes with current MoT and a file of various bills from Graham Walker Ltd and others, the car has been in the same ownership for 24 years. Finished in BRG with light tan interior, this rare GTC is ready for its next owner to lavish some love on it.
