Description
Produced between September 1967 and January 1970, the Mini Mk2 Cooper S is arguably the best mix of Mk1 quirkiness and Mk3 practicality. During this two and a half year period, BMC manufactured a total of 6. 329 of these fabulous cars - split as 2. 687 units of the Austin variant and 3. 642 as the Morris equivalent.
It's with great pleasure that we offer this unique example, which is as rare as hen's teeth : a fully original Morris Mini Mk2 Cooper S which is still completely in its original first paint. This fantastic Mini was delivered new in Sweden in April 1968, and has had only 3 owners since then. The first owner, Mr Stig Lunisson, fitted the car with a Corbeau sports seat when it was new. For that reason, the original drivers seat is still with the car as well and in NEW condition. The carpets, headlining, passengers seat and rear seat are still all original. Even more astonishing is the body of this Mini Cooper S, as there are no sign of rust and it is still for 100% in first paint. The Mini is currently on aluminium 'Rose Petal' rims shod with new Dunlop SP Sport tyres in 165/ 70R10 size, and the original white painted steel rims are also included. This must be one of the few Mini's in the world in such a condition, and on top of that it is the most interesting 1275 Cooper S version.
This is proper collectors stuff, as a car is only original once. Finding another early Mini Cooper S from the sixties like this is almost impossible, and a unique opportunity to add such an iconic small car to any world-class collection
