Description
The Morris Oxford MO was designed by Sir Alec Issigonis who also designed the Morris Minor and the Mini.
It was produced between 1948 and 1954 and during this time 159960 were built but now according to the web site, "How Many Left" there are only 88 examples registered for use on UK roads.
This example was registered new in September 1953 and given the registration number NYP842 which it still wears with pride.
It was sold in 2008 by a well known respected North Yorkshire classic car dealer to one of their regular customers who used it as everyday transport covering 9000 miles in the two years he owned it up to 2010 when the dealer bought it back from them.
In early 2010 before selling it back to the dealer, he fitted it with a fully rebuilt engine, new clutch and wiring loom.
The dealer then sold it to a local enthusiast who has used it to attend classic car shows during his 14 years of ownership. He has had it regularly serviced and had a new carpet set fitted in 2019.
This gentleman has recently bought a classic car from us and used this Morris as a part exchange.
The car is MOT exempt and it will be licensed for twelve months from the date of sale for the new owner at no cost as the car qualifies for the Historic Taxation class.
The history file contains the current V5, a previous V5, other DVLA paperwork, numerous previous MOT certificates, a series of photos restoration work carried out on the doors and numerous old tax discs and club membership badges.
