An easy and fun classic to own and maintain, this 1968 Traveller is lovely to drive, and is in good overall condition with no major paint flaws, the rear wood structure is in great order with no visible rot or deterioration.
The interior is in very presentable condition the red seats and door cards are in good order, and the carpets are in excellent condition.
Very affordable entry level classic car, classic insurance, economical to run with inexpensive maintenance costs. All parts are readily available for ongoing care and maintenance.
With its wood-panelled back end, the Morris Minor 1000 Traveller is one of the all-time icons of the British & Irish road scene and was seen on every street corner from the 1950s to the 1970s.
It remains one of the UK’s & Irelands most popular classics today, due in no small part to the huge Morris Minor Owners Club, which is responsible for keeping thousands of examples of the Minor and its derivatives still going strong.
Based on the Minor saloon but with a structural timber frame to the rear, the Traveller was an hugely resourceful vehicle in its day and earned its place as one of the nation’s favourite cars. It remains one of the most practical classic cars you can buy, as at home earning its keep on dog walks, as it is at classic car shows.
Please don’t compare her to a modern car. She’s 56 years old, and there may be imperfections, blemishes & age related wear & tear in there somewhere, even if not apparent on first viewing. It is inevitable that some degree of tinkering may be required even to a car in this condition.
Owning a classic car is a hobby & you will spend time & money in ongoing care & maintenance, this is part of the joy of owning a classic car.
The description of the car is based on my opinion, & it could be that it will differ from yours. If you are considering buying the car, I recommend that you examine & test the car and satisfy yourself as to its condition and suitability.
