EXTERIOR
This 964 sits in the vibrant Guards Red or ‘Indischrot’. The lustre and finish of the paintwork is second-to-none and remains in pristine condition with minimal stone chips to the front or side sills. The paintwork is reminiscent of typical 80’s wide body Porsche; draping itself over the muscular body and encasing the car in a warm glow that is radically offset by the pronounced rear arches and familiar whale tail spoiler.
Rubbers and plastics show soft and supple, encasing unmarked glass and lights with wonderful original texture, shape and colour. The sunroof appears clean and tidy, operating with a smooth action and sealing correctly.
INTERIOR
With Sport seats in outstanding original order, the perforated black leather shows supple, smooth and free of distortion. There is little, if any wear, to report to any of the switch gear with only a shine to the steering wheel and gear knob belying the cars use. Door cards and padded dash again are in excellent structural and cosmetic condition. The rear bench appears untouched whilst the carpet set retains a deep pile texture and feel with genuine over mats in front offering further protection.
Reassuringly the only non OEM equipment is a useful Alpine Bluetooth Head Unit with accompanying USB port.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The M30 turbo engine’s basic design was getting on for 15 years old when installed in the 964 but still performs admirably today. Up to 3, 000 rpm, not much happens and it is easy to drive the car off boost however when the turbo spools up it’s all hands to the pump with the rapidly climbing torque curve!
The drivetrain is tight and assured thanks to a clutch replacement and flywheel skim in May of 2022.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Crested CUP 1’s look just right on this 3. 3, free from any marks or wear wrapped in an excellent set of Michelin Pilot Sports.
Red Calipers show through the classic five spokes in good order, free from any fading or peel, whilst the discs and pads sit showing plenty of life.
HISTORY FILE
First delivered on New Year’s Day 1991 by JCT 600 this stunning 3. 3 has one of the most thorough service files we have seen here. With 21 stamps in the original service book, and a paperwork trail from Day 1, you can be rest assured the car has always had the best care. From the period between ’91 – ’97 the oil and filter were changed an incredible 19 (NINETEEN) times!
With camshafts changed fairly early on in the car’s life, alongside regular fuel pressure tests and a thorough service routine, the last major works completed in June 2023 with marque specialists GCR Central also included replacing the exhaust gaskets, an overhaul of the air injection system and a new drive belt with closure cap.
All invoicing and receipts read in chronological order in addition to the original owners wallet with the aforementioned fully stamped Guarantee and Maintenance book. The leather pouch home to the spare key is also present.
The car will be supplied with 12 Months MOT for further peace of mind.
