Description
1962 Triumph TR3 Roadster with wire wheels and a factory synchromesh gearbox with Laycock overdrive . This is a non running project car . This car was recently removed from lengthy dry storage where it had been kept covered for some years as an unfinished frame-off restoration . The previous owner of 20 years , having devoted much time and a considerable expense to the effort , was unable to complete the car . The British Motor Heritage certificate is included and acknowledges the original colors and specifications . The previous owner added the earlier smallmouth coachwork as that was a preference . All of the mechanicals were rebuilt professionally , including the engine and original overdrive gearbox . The chassis was sandblasted and all suspension and rear differential were also rebuilt . Most all items were reconditioned or replaced , such as , wire wheels , tires , exhaust , brakes , chrome , interior , top , tonneau , side curtains , carpets , wiring harness , reupholstered seating and much, much more. It also has an alloy radiator and alloy fuel tank , larger front sway bar , Koni front shocks and spin on oil filter conversion which were fitted as upgrades to the original items . The Offenhauser alloy valve cover was said to be an original period accessory that was sourced for the car . Most all of the loose bits needed are included to finish the car. The car has not been started since re-assembly and still will need some sorting , assembly , fitting , fettling and reconditioning to complete it to its potential , but a large portion of the hard work has been already done . The engine and gearbox were previously tested on run stands before installation by the rebuilders . Hopefully , a Triumph enthusiast who knows these cars will buy it and finish it to their liking and see that it gets back on the road where it belongs . Please feel free to ask any questions.
