One that pays tribute to Lotus' motorsport heritage, and a particular hero of this area - Jim Clark, who led Team Lotus to Formula 1 success in the ground-breaking Type 25 in 1962 and 1963 and who lived and farmed here in the Scottish Borders. Currently owned by an individual involved in the Jim Clark trust, this car boasts a history and condition representative of its exclusivity.
Exterior
The 'Type 25' Lotus Elise benefits from a unique exterior colour combination - 'Lotus Racing Green' with 'Yellow Metallic' stripes, reminiscent of the ground breaking Lotus Type 25 Formula 1 car from 1962. The forged wheels are in good condition without any scuffing and sporting Yokohama tyres with 5+mm tread depth all around. The paintwork is bright and presentable, showing minimal signs of wear with some stone chips to be found commensurate with age and mileage. The headlight lenses do show signs of age but this does not detract from the car.
The vehicle is supplied with the hard top fitted, as well as the soft top present for the new owner.
Interior
The interior of the Type 25 Lotus Elise presents a classic charm with the typical Elise sports seats in Ruby Red Red, with matching steering wheel, doorcards and wood shifter, again reminiscent of Jim Clarks Lotus 25. As with the exterior, the interior is very presentable and offers a balance of function and beauty only perfected by the Elise. A Classic Team Lotus numbered plaque sits atop the Alcantara trimmed dashboard confirming the exclusivity of this particular example.
