Triumph is one of the most iconic and revered names in the history of motorcycling. Established in Coventry in 1885, by the start of the 1900s the company had made its first motorcycle beginning a continuous run of production under various ownership until its eventual closure in 1983. In 1937 the Edward Turner-designed Speed Twin was released launching a range of Triumph twins that went on to epitomize British motorcycles in the post-war years.
On offer is a 1953 Triumph Speed Twin sprung hub model. This very machine was rebuilt by the famous Hughie Hancox to his usual concours standard and to factory a spec. It was treated to a full strip down with all components refurbished or replaced with factory parts. This machine was purchased by the late owner for his collection and to go into the Triumph section of it. The Speed Twin has not been used for some time and will require some recommissioning before use. It is offered with a current V5C. Offered without reserve.
