Description
420 1968 Black with Red interior. UK registered WGU 429F.
RHD South African 420 automatic, had been garaged and not moved for about the last 8 years.
It has factory air conditioning, the body is superb, the black paintwork is sun burnt and terrible.
It has factory power steering.
The interior is plastic, not leather.
The glass and chrome are in good condition.
Has a new stainless steel exhaust system.
4 "new" whitewall tyres are fitted.
Mechanically it does seem to be in very good condition, it is now running on both fuel tanks and has passed the MOT test.
The brake master cylinder looks to be fairly new, we have cleaned the reaction valve and used red rubber grease on re-assembly, the brakes work well.
The underbody is in incredible condition, never seen one as good.
This is a light restoration project that will make the only rust free 420 out there, I should say rot free, there is surface rust, especially on the bonnet top.
On DVLA shows as Red, it has obviously had a poor spray job in black.
It drives really well, we have fitted new front calipers, there is no diff noise, the auto box is excellent but does not kick down for some reason.
Amazing vale at this price.
We have now applied to DVLA for a log book and paid the £25. 00 fee, it is classed as Historic, so has free road tax.
