The Vespa V90 was first produced in 1963 characterised by a dainty appearance and with a weight of just 66KG. The V90 only produced in light Sky Blue colour option with a Dark Blue piped saddle. It was produced alongside the V50 but with much better performance and despite its tiny body could carry 2 people extraordinarily well. Its 88. 5cc single cylinder engine could propel the scooter to a claimed 70kmh. Production ended in 1978 and only around 25, 000 units were produced according to Piaggio sources.
We present here a complete example retaining a great deal of originality and these are rarely seen these days on the market. Imported by Vespa (Douglas) Ltd and first registered in Lincoln, Great Britain in 1971, the original blue logbook retention form V311supports the provenance that accompanies this scooter with correct numbers. The scooter has reportedly been in the ownership of only one family until our vendor acquired it. It was, it seems, laid-up in 1978 and is supplied with a 1977 MOT that supports the mileage of only 5, 891 miles from new.
In detail, we note that the original paint has been touched-up or overpainted but done in the correct Sky Blue colour. However, it appears that almost everything except the seat cover is original. The scooter has reportedly been seen running recently and the tank is clean inside and the compression is good. We understand that the brakes function and that the gears engage correctly, the lighting and switch gear were all working at the time of consignment. The DVLA have confirmed it will be issued with its original number and the V5C will follow (see online pics)
