Historie und Produktion:
Mercedes-Benz stellte den Typ W113 auf dem Genfer Automobilsalon im März 1963 als Nachfolger gleich zweier Modelle vor: Der 300 SL und der 190 SL wurden von dem - wegen seiner Hardtop-Dachform als „Pagode“ bezeichneten - Roadster abgelöst. Der W113 war der erste SL mit einer Sicherheitskarosserie. Bodengruppe, Achsen und Lenkung wurden weitestgehend aus der damaligen S-Klasse W111 übernommen.
Von 19 63 bis 1971 wurden 48. 912 Exemplare produziert.

Dieser 280 SL wurde vollständig restauriert. Im Zuge der Restauration wurde das Schaltgetriebe durch ein Fünf-Gang-Schaltgetriebe ersetzt. Farbgebung und Motor entsprechen der Auslieferung („Matching-Number“). Der Wagen befindet sich in einem nahezu neuwertigen Zustand.
Bei dieser Pagode handelt es sich um eine besondere Gelegenheit ein sehr aufwändig restauriertes Fahrzeug mit Fünf-Gang-Schaltgetriebe und Hardtop in einer sehr ansprechenden Farbkombination zu erwerben.

History and production:
Mercedes-Benz presented the W113 at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1963 as the successor to two models: The 300 SL and the 190 SL were replaced by the roadster - known as the ‘Pagoda’ because of its hardtop roof shape. The W113 was the first SL with a safety body. The floor assembly, axles and steering were largely adopted from the W111 S-Class of the time.
From 19 63 to 1971, 48, 912 units were produced.

This 280 SL has been fully restored. In the course of the restoration, the manual gearbox was replaced by a five-speed manual gearbox. The colour scheme and engine correspond to the delivery (‘matching number’). The car has a condition like new.
