Description
Compared to the mainstream competitors from MG and Fiat, the Alfa Romeo Spider was more the choice of the discerning connoisseur when, in the 1960s and 70s, an open 2-seater sports car was on the wish list. The well-known Alfa Romeo “Nord” engine, made in aluminum with twin overhead camshafts, 2 double carburetors, 5-speed gearbox also in aluminum and disc brakes on all 4 wheels were standard options for the model. In 1971 the more powerful 2 liter engine with 131 HP arrived, with larger brakes and a LSD on the rear axle, all goodies that the competitors could not match. The Series 2 model, with its sharply cut Kamm rear end design, simply signals classic Italian style and elegance, and you get a fair share of “La dolce vita” in every trip behind the wheel.
The engine has been completely renovated (km 0) and so has the gearbox, with many good kilometers waiting for the new owner to come. Now it doesn’t just have to be about mechanics on this car. The rest of the car is actually pretty nice and quite inviting too. Leather seats, electric windows, Cromodora wheels, windbreaker and soft top in good condition completes the classic red Spider. And as an extra surprise, something as rare as a Targa hardtop from Kørbler in Germany comes with the car. You can then choose yourself whether you want to drive as coupe, targa or cabriolet – how smart is that!?
We know this car well, having sold it to its last owner more than 11 years ago. He has taken very well care of the car in his ownership, so even today it looks beautiful. The car is delivered with fresh service ready to drive into the summer in an open, classic Alfa.
