When we think of a classic Volvo, we immediately associate the Swedish brand with reliability, sturdiness, and people who consciously choose this brand with an excellent reputation. This sturdiness often brings to mind the doors of a Volvo. It’s as if you’re closing a safe, is often said here at Gallery Aaldering.
Volvo has a rich history with the legendary PV544. This car was introduced as the successor to the popular PV444 and marked a significant leap forward in Volvo’s design and technology. Admittedly, the Amazon was available and very modern in design. For many people, the brand-new Volvo Amazon was expensive, and others preferred the classic lines of the PV444. The PV544 was therefore an attractive alternative.
The PV544, launched in 1958, offered several improvements over its predecessor. With a choice of two different engines and a four-speed gearbox, the PV544 provided a smooth and pleasant driving experience. The enlarged rear window offered better rear visibility, and the interior was upgraded with soft upholstery and a more spacious rear seat for added comfort and room.
Our PV544 dates from 1965 and is equipped with an LPG system. Originally delivered in Sweden, this Volvo was registered in 1966. In 1999, the car was brought to the Netherlands and was in the possession of the same owner until recently. Some time ago, this Volvo underwent restoration and revision work. The restoration photos of these works will be provided with the car.
Additionally, this model is equipped with Bilstein shock absorbers all around, an enlarged radiator, front disc brakes with power assist, Hella spotlights, front seats with headrests, and an extra Kenlow fan.
The entire car looks great and well-maintained. The restoration work was carried out correctly. The exterior therefore has a beautiful and sleek body, and the interior is in neat condition. The engine runs very nicely, and the car drives very well, thanks in part to the modifications.
