Imported from the US in 2005, this LHD car has been the result of a very long restoration and re-build.
However, the eventual owner found that the size of the job got the better of him and therefore he sold to us as a 90% finished project. Some minor works remain to be completed by Fairmont prior to sale, or you may choose to have a discount on the asking price and finish these small jobs yourself. There are items to be fitted i. e. wipers, trims and internal handles- which are supplied.
The cars paintwork is in an excellent condition and the chrome work also in top order, looking perfect. There are many pictures of the restoration on a CD.
This Karmann Ghia is a great driver and with its electronic ignition, it starts on the button every time.
The air-cooled engine provides a joyous soundtrack and will take you back to 60s motoring. Out on the road she gets up to speed quickly and sits comfortably whether you are doing 30mph or 70mph. All the gears are easily found with a smooth operating gear stick and there’s no crunching between gears. The pedals are all as they should be with nice clutch operation and sharp braking.
