Description
Ferrari 348 was produced as a successor for the very popular 308/ 328 model. Retaining the compact V8 engine in the center of the car but now mounted longitudinally (Hence the “T” for “Trasversale” in the model designation). With an output of 300bhp and dry sump lubrication there was plenty of power and attitude to match the rest of the car and the well functioning targa roof just adds further to the driver experience. This was the final Ferrari which Enzo supervised in person and therefore in our opinion the last proper Ferrari before features such as electronics, automatic transmission, servo steering and a soft clutch became the norm. Also the nomenclature was changed after Il Commendatore passed on to the eternal race tracks as the 348 was the final model where the name resembled the configuration of the engine – 3. 4 liter with 8 cylinders. As usual the design was carried out by Pininfarina and the responsible designer was the legendary Leonardo Fioravanti (365 “Daytona”, 288 GTO and F40 !!) who further developed on the design from the Testarossa. The result is a car, which is more masculine than the predecessor and probably also the successor – the 348 has its own merits. Our example is in an extraordinary good condition and still retaining its original and flawless paint. Never damaged, never altered, just maintained on a regular basis. Owned by an enthusiastic custodian for the past 14 years (only second owner) and with a mileage of only 47, 695 km this car is a real classic and collectors car with potential. On the road the car performs as a Ferrari is supposed to do. Accompanied by the fantastic sound of the V8 right behind your ears and – dare we say – of course with a manual gearbox operated through the classic open shift gate. Please take a look at the video presentation below – it was one of the better days at work when we made it, one can only get happy by driving in an open Ferrari!
