EXTERIOR
Finished in timeless Arctic Silver over black and presenting exceptionally well throughout it’s one of the finest 996s we’ve seen in recent years. The odometer reads a very modest 65k miles but the car looks to have driven only half that. The paintwork is excellent, the headlights are crystal clear, and there are no signs of any corrosion to report. Even on very close inspection all the rubber seals and trims are first-rate and, having previously been treated to a full refurbishment, the 18-inch Carrera alloys are perfect. The wheels are shod in matching Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tyres (all date stamped 2022) and the black brake calipers are unmarked.
INTERIOR
Still retaining that new car smell the interior of this manual C2 is a great place to be. Having never required any repair work the black upholstery is notably supple, and even commonly worn areas such as the driver’s bolster hint at only light use. The car was spec’d from new with extended leather and so the dashboard, door panels and rear seats are also trimmed in genuine black leather – a very nice touch over the standard leatherette finish found in other 996s. Another great addition is the Porsche Classic Communication Management Plus (PCCM+) system integrated seamlessly in the dash. Both the steering wheel and gear knob are excellent and original, and in the footwells you’ll find genuine Porsche overmats. All in all, a very nicely appointed interior in beautiful condition.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Out on the road everything feels as tight as a drum. Clearly a cherished example, the car has always been maintained to a very high standard with 17 Porsche/ specialist service stamps in the book. The last service was carried out in October 2023 less than 300 miles ago, and the all-important IMS bearing upgrade was done in October 2020 at 57k miles; alongside the immediate shaft bearing, the rear main seal (RMS), clutch and flywheel were also replaced. For the new keeper’s peace of mind the car has just been fully inspected by our trusted classic car workshop with no advisories to report.
HISTORY FILE
This wonderful C2 in sought after manual specification was supplied new by JCT600 in February 2003. Within the accompanying paperwork the lucky new owner will receive the original leather Porsche document wallet with all handbooks, the fully stamped service booklet (entries below), a raft of invoices and MOT certificates, issue 91 of Total 911 magazine in which the car was featured, a clean HPI report, spare key, and the V5C showing 6 former keepers.
