Coming to us from a small private collection this very rare early DT Yamaha was crying out for some TLC having been stood unused for a while. So we striped it down, engine out, refinished the frame. Took a nasty after market throttle off it and replaced it with a NOS one, Fitted new indicators all round as they were missing and sorted out the wiring while there. Replaced the l/ h switch as the original had long gone and what was there didn't work. Fitted new chain and sprocket kit, along with the chain pulls and rear brake rod spring and butterfly adjuster. Replaced any cables, bulbs etc that needed to be ( it came with what look to be almost new tyres) and cleaned the hell out of it. Now its not mint, but it is rather nice, starts easily. runs nicely and everything works. Personally i do not like the aftermarket tank badges, but then i am a bit OCD like that and there is minor pitting at the top of the fork stanchions, not in the swept area and yes, a set of gaitors would hide it but again, if we did that it looks like we are hiding it and please bare in mind, the old thing is 53 years old!!
Price wise i have no real idea as the only nice one i can find for sale is in Germany and they are asking nearly £10K for it, that's taking the p..., i am sure!! So figured @£4595 ie half the cost of an early FSIe it sounds about right. G
