The World’s Fastest Estate Car! COMING SOON
This is the ex-works ‘2003 MG ZT-T 765 X-15 Bonneville’ and it still holds a 20+ year old record as the ‘World’s Fastest Estate Car’.
Built in 2002 by MG, lead by Design Director Peter Stevens (designer of the McLaren F1 and subsequently Lead Designer at Lamborghini and Williams) in association with the So-Cal Speed Shop of California. The mission was given a ‘no financial limit’ and had one goal in mind… the first estate car to break the 200mph barrier at the 5 mile Bonneville Salt Flats Long Course.
In August 2003 it didn’t just break it, with Bonneville veteran Pat Kinne at the wheel, it smashed it with a whopping 225. 6 mph (360. 9 km/ h) in the final run AND it still holds the record today over twenty years later!
It boasts an 800hp 6-ltr normally aspirated V8 Roush performance engine that redlines at 9500rpm. It has a NASCAR bottom end with a Panoz LMP1 top end and fitted to a NASCAR five speed race transmission.
The Car has recently been the star of the ‘MG Centenary’ event at the British Motor Museum in Gaydon, England and will shortly be exclusively for sale at JD Classics!
More information coming shortly…
